Veteran and Military Families Month
Issue No. 019 - November 2026
The Holiday Challenge
The holiday season usually brings joy with its festivities, family traditions, and bustling atmosphere, but it can also be difficult for some. November marks National Veterans and Military Families Month, honoring the everyday bravery of veterans and their families, while highlighting the unique challenges they face that are often intensified during the holidays.
Veterans, active‑duty members, and their families may feel the holidays weigh heavily on them, experiencing sadness, isolation from service‑related experiences, distance from loved ones, and an overwhelming burden, especially for those coping with PTSD.
While the holidays can be challenging for Veterans, active-duty members and their families, there are a number of ways we can surround them with the love and supoort they may need.
Military Families
1.Holiday Shopping – Shopping itself can be stressful – during the holidays it’s even more brutal. From dinners and cards to gifts, as people often forget items; offering to pick up anything they need can ease families’ burden.
2. Holiday Dinner Invite – When a loved one is deployed, their empty seat can be heartbreaking; inviting the family to join you provides a gathering place for fun and new memories.
3.Gift Cards – Gift cards are an excellent means of support, covering groceries, Christmas presents, and household supplies, easing the burden on families coping with a deployed loved one and the financial strain of the holidays.

REMEMBERING Lt CMDR SAPP
The Coffee4VETS family and friends join with the Lancaster Elks lodge in honoring our brother in arms in his passing. A true American hero Walter served in Vietnam and here in his community. We extend our condolences to his lovely wife Susan and to all the family. We will keep you all in prayer.
Farewell to a true American hero – Walter Sapp. Your legacy of kindness and dedication of service left an incredible mark in all our hearts.
Thank You Walter For Your Service.
Vet Talk
Vet Talk is the brainchild of Juan Blanco, Coffee4VETS’ founder and president. Juan started Vet Talk during the pandemic as a way to help veterans work through the difficulties of being isolated, sheltering at home, and social distancing. Vet Talk became crucial in keeping the veteran community connected.
In continuing with the same spirit of keeping the veteran community connected. Vet Talk is being relaunched. The series will feature 1 monthly question answered by our Veteran community. The monthly question will cover a broad scope of topics, ranging from their lives before, during, and after service.
This month’s question is: Which moment during your service had the biggest impact on you?
Thank You Ralph Velador, U.S Army (Retired) for your service and for taking the time to answer this month’s question.
President's Message

Welcome to the month of giving thanks, NOVEMBER.
Leaving Halloween behind and looking forward to Thanksgiving and all the good food, family and football, truly the American past time for all. I want to remember our fighting forces throughout the country and overseas and to wish them a safe and joyous holiday season. Our month begins with daylight savings and moving straight into election day. How fast the year can go by.
This month we celebrate veterans’ day on the 11th and on the 10th, we honor our united states Marines as they turn 251 years of serving and protecting our nation. There are many days set out for special occasions as an example, this month we have Friday the 13th but is also world kindness day and just after thanksgiving there is national French toast day. There is also the 5th of November which is National Redhead Day and on election day, it is also known as National sandwich day. Who knew.
This year on the 7th, the 39th assembly district, Assemblyman Juan Carrillo will host the first Veterans Parade since the early 2000’s and Coffee4VETS along with other veterans’ organizations will be marching in the parade. We look forward to having a great time.
Our Moto: “Honoring Our Veterans of Yesterday Who Secured Our Today.”
