Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

For those of you who have been waiting for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, your wait is over. This Thursday April 8th, the vaccine will be at the Clock Tower (Palmdale Train Station) from 9am to 5pm for those 50 years of age and older. There will be another vaccine session again on April 22nd for those 16 years and older. Pease see the attached flyer.

412TH Test Wing Edwards AFB

Chief Ian Eishen is being reassign to DC working with the Strategic Studies Group. We wish him and his family well in their new endeavors. Taking his place as Chief at Edwards AFB is Josh Matias & spouse Vanessa. The newest leader had a big welcome celebration and we look forward to working with Chief Matias in getting C4V next Breakfast and Tour on base as soon as its back up and fully operational for visitors. Funeral Expense Relief from FEMA

Funeral Expense Relief from FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management AgencyUnder the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA will provide financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. Who is Eligible? To be eligible for funeral assistance, you must meet these conditions. 1. The death must have occurred in the United States, including the U.S. territories, and the district of Columbia. (Washington D.C.) 2. The death certificate must indicate the death was attributed to COVID-19. 3. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen national, or qualified alien who incurred funeral expenses after January 20, 2020. 4. There is no requirement for the deceased person to have been a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien. For more information and to apply please visit FEMA.gov

High Desert Medical Group also taking appointment calls for HDMG patients 65 and up. Presentation Honor and Healing Field

City of Palmdale on Tuesday thank the Palmdale Auto Dealers Association for its key sponsorship of the Veterans Week display of the Field of Healing and Honor, with its 2,020 American Flags on display Nov.1-11, with closing ceremonies on Veterans Day. Flags honored veterans of military service, first responders, and healthcare heroes. Five veterans service organizations responded as the key volunteer committee with others joining in during the days and nights of the event. Event supported to hilt by Palmdale City Council was initiated by City Manager J.J. Murphy, US Air Force Maj. Ret. On Tuesday, Mayor Steve Hofbauer and Council Members Laura Bettencourt, Austin Bishop, and Richard Loa awarded a distribution of more than $8,000 each to the key volunteer organizations – Coffee4Vets, Vets4veterans, Point Man Antelope Valley, American Legion Post 348 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3000. Point Man, President Michael Bertell, PMAV Volunteer Coordinator Stacia Nemeth; Vets4veterans President Jack Woolbert and VP John Parsamyan; American Legion Richard Hayes and Carl Hernandez; VFW Post 3000 representatives Duane Svoboda and Mike Keysers. “It was a great event that helped bring healing in a very difficult time for all Americans,” Murphy said. Black History Month

The United States has observed Black History Month in February as a Month-long celebrate honoring the contributions made by Black Americans in our country. Black History traces its origins back to 1926, when the Association for the Study of African American Life and History designated a week in February, chosen to coincide with Fredrick Douglas, Feb 14th as what was called Negro History Week. There is nothing move motivating as knowing that people who look like you achieved great things. This picture is a thousands words of history and more.

Greatest Generation

Violet Ochsner, one of America’s greatest Moms, and mother of four wonderful daughters, best friend and bride to WWII 101st Airborne veteran Henry Ochsner, has left us. Married to Henry (D. September 2019) for more than 70 years. Pictured with daughters Sandy, Susan and Lenelle. Sister Jackie not in photo. We will miss Violet, her good cheer, wonderful smile, kindness and generosity to all.

COVID-19 Vaccine

Veterans As of Tuesday this week January 12, 2021, the Veterans Administration, West Los Angeles Campus is offering COVID-19 vaccine for veterans 75 years and older. To set an up an appointment to receive the vaccine you can call 310-268-4900. To be eligible to receive the vaccine, you must be enrolled in the V.A. system or the V.A. healthcare system. You may also set up an appointment if you are under 75 years of age if you are a front line worker such as medical, fire, law enforcement or considered an essential worker. You will need proof of identification that you fall into that category and have your VA card. The vaccine is currently only being offered at the West LA campus and the time to call the number 310-268-4900 is from the hour of 08:00 to 16:00 hours.
