A FIGHTING SAILOR’S BIRTHDAY – Navy veteran Eli Colvin probably spent a birthday or two at sea on a big carrier during the Vietnam War. But Tuesday at Coffee 4 Vets was sweet.
Serenaded by his veteran brothers and sisters and celebrated by veteran world’s best servers, Dasha Eiser and Sheila Nelson Beach
On a more somber note, Vietnam Army veteran Larry Walton called for a moment of silence and read the names of five veterans who recently died by suicide, the toll of more than 20 a day.
Retired educator R Michael Dutton Sr. Recounted more than three generations of military service in his family and continued the tradition of distributing pocket size copies of the U.S. Constitution at the weekly veterans breakfast.
